COCORO Steam achievements

Twelve trophies, ten public names, and how First Launch, language, and chapters unlock.

COCORO Steam Achievements Guide

COCORO ships with 12 Steam achievements. This unofficial wiki can print 10 names with a straight face: First Launch, Change Language, and Complete Chapter 1 through Complete Chapter 8. The remaining two titles are unpublished. We will not invent them, even as placeholders like “Hidden Finale” or “True Heart.” When Steam or the in-game list shows those two strings in plain text, this page gets two more rows. Until then, the table below is the whole checklist we will stand behind.

Trophy hunting here is not a dating-sim flowchart. Steam tags the story Linear, Frontwing centers one heroine, and the endings page explains why chapter trophies are progress through a book, not eight different credits sequences. If you have not installed yet, start with getting started or the demo guide. If you only want craft and content warnings, skip to the review.

Known achievements

AchievementHow it unlocks (what we can confirm)
First LaunchStart the full game. This is a boot trophy, not a story fork.
Change LanguageSwitch the in-game language to a different supported option and apply it.
Complete Chapter 1Finish chapter 1 of the linear story.
Complete Chapter 2Finish chapter 2.
Complete Chapter 3Finish chapter 3.
Complete Chapter 4Finish chapter 4.
Complete Chapter 5Finish chapter 5.
Complete Chapter 6Finish chapter 6.
Complete Chapter 7Finish chapter 7.
Complete Chapter 8Finish chapter 8.

Steam’s storefront counter is 12, not 10. The two missing names are real trophies with unpublished titles. They are not listed in this table on purpose.

First Launch

First Launch is the simplest public trophy and the one new owners trip over only if they confuse the demo with the retail app.

  • Install the full Steam release of COCORO (app discussion and store links live under links).
  • Boot it once and reach the title screen or the opening scene. You do not need to finish a chapter.
  • Leave Steam online long enough for the overlay to register the unlock.

The free demo is a separate download and covers only the beginning of the story. Do not assume demo progress grants retail trophies. If First Launch does not pop, confirm you launched the paid app, not the demo, then restart Steam. Cloud saves and Deck installs still count as launching the full game; the system requirements page is for hardware, not for a secret launch flag.

First Launch does not change the plot. It is a “you opened the book” stamp.

Change Language

COCORO ships with Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Japanese has full voice except the male protagonist. The other three languages have interface and subtitles.

To unlock Change Language:

  1. Open the in-game settings from the title or pause menu.
  2. Change the UI or subtitle language to something other than your current choice.
  3. Apply the change so the game actually switches strings.
  4. You can switch back immediately. The trophy is for changing language, not for finishing the novel in a second tongue.

If the option appears greyed out, you are probably in a video, a forced scene, or a menu that does not own settings. Return to the title and try again. This is the same language menu you use on first boot, which the getting started guide already recommends setting before you care about trophies.

Change Language is also the cleanest excuse for a second pass: Japanese audio with English text is the expected overseas path, and a skip replay after credits is optional, not required. Length for that replay is on playtime.

Complete Chapter 1 through 8

The eight chapter trophies are the spine of the list. Because the story is linear, you earn them by reading forward, not by picking a chapter from a route menu.

What we can say without inventing conditions:

  • Play the story. When a chapter completes, the matching “Complete Chapter N” achievement should unlock.
  • You should see them in order on a normal first pass. There is no published requirement to pick special dialogue, collect items, or romance a second heroine.
  • If a pop is delayed, finish the current scene, let the next chapter heading appear, then check the Steam overlay. Do not wipe your save on a rumor.
  • These unlocks are not eight endings. See endings for how to think about the finale, and the walkthrough for chapter orientation without a choice map.

Save anytime. Steam Cloud is supported. Steam Deck is Verified. Keep a rolling slot plus a copy at chapter breaks if you care about not replaying five hours after a crash. That habit also helps if one of the two unpublished trophies later turns out to be missable — we do not know that it is, and we will not pretend we do.

The two unpublished names

Write this in big letters: this wiki will not guess trophy titles. A 12-achievement game with 10 public names tempts people to fill the gap with “Watch the credits,” “See all CGs,” or “True end.” Those strings are fan fiction until Steam prints them.

What we will do instead:

  • Leave two numbered holes in the mental checklist: Unpublished A and Unpublished B, with no flavor text.
  • Update this page when a screenshot of the Steam achievement list or the in-game trophy screen shows the real names.
  • Refuse to copy unverified names from comments, even if they sound plausible.

Do not brute-force random menu clicks hoping to stumble into the last two. Finish the eight chapters, grab First Launch and Change Language, then wait. A complete chapter run plus the two setup trophies is the only 10/12 we can honestly promise today.

Demo, Deck, Cloud, and 100%

A few practical edges:

Demo versus retail. The demo is for tone, UI, and voices. Trophy hunting belongs on the full release after the launch build you actually paid for.

Steam Deck. Verified means the game is expected to run and read well on Deck, not that trophies behave differently. Use the same overlay. If type is too small, that is a comfort issue, not a hidden achievement.

Cloud. Turn Steam Cloud on so chapter progress is not trapped on one machine. Cloud does not auto-grant trophies on a second PC; launching the game and reaching the relevant state still has to happen on that install.

Playtime. VNDB voters report about 5 hours 23 minutes. A linear pass should be enough for the eight chapter trophies. Extra time is for language swaps, re-reads, and whatever the unpublished pair actually asks. Details sit on playtime.

Story context without spoilers. If you want to know who Cocoro is before you care about stamps, read the Cocoro profile and the cast hub. Those pages stay on public credits.

Hardware. Windows 11 is the listed OS. If the client will not start, fix that with system requirements before you assume First Launch is bugged.

The rest of the how-to set lives in the guides hub. Official storefronts and social accounts are collected under links. This achievements page will add the last two rows only when the names are public, not when a comment section gets impatient.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for first-time readers of COCORO.

How many Steam achievements does COCORO have?

Twelve. This page lists the ten public names: First Launch, Change Language, and Complete Chapter 1–8. The other two names are unpublished and will not be invented here. Broader how-to pages sit in the guides hub.

How do I unlock First Launch and Change Language?

Boot the full retail game once for First Launch. For Change Language, open settings, pick a different supported language, and apply it. You can switch back. First-time menu setup is also covered in getting started.

Do I need multiple playthroughs for the chapter trophies?

Not for Complete Chapter 1–8. COCORO is a linear one-heroine story; those eight stamps should drop on a single forward read. See the walkthrough for chapter orientation and endings so you do not treat chapter pops as extra finales.

Does the Steam demo give achievements?

Do not assume that. The demo is a separate opening slice. Hunt trophies on the full release described in the launch recap. Storefront links are on the links page.

Can I 100% COCORO in one sitting?

You can reasonably get the ten named trophies in one linear pass plus a language swap. The last two names are unpublished, so this wiki will not promise a one-sitting 12/12. Expect about five hours; see playtime.

Will unpublished trophies require extra endings or CGs?

Unknown. We will not guess. Finish the story, keep a spare save as the endings guide suggests, and come back when the names are public. For who the heroine is, use the Cocoro page and the cast hub. Hardware issues belong in system requirements. If you are still deciding whether to buy, read the review.
