COCORO sale and KANADE bundle
Launch 20 percent off, Steam bundle 85155, and when to skip the extra novel.
COCORO launched with a 20 percent Steam introductory offer and a COCORO + KANADE bundle (Steam bundle 85155). Neither is a patch, a DLC promise, or a sequel announcement. This page is the shopping-math companion to the where-to-buy guide: how long the launch cut lasts, what the bundle actually contains, why someone might want both Frontwing / GOOD SMILE COMPANY collabs, and why most people should still buy COCORO by itself if they only came for Tsukumo.
List price on the official English site is USD 24.90 (Steam often displays $24.99). Japanese digital coverage quoted 3,800 yen tax-in. Dated ship facts — 27 August 2026 JST, 26 August on some Steam pages, Steam / DLsite / DMM — live on the launch recap. The dated news log is the timeline from the March announcement through street date. This article will not invent a numbered changelog or a secret third sale-end date.
The 20 percent launch discount
Steam news on ship day said there is a 20 percent launch discount for the first 12 days. The US store widget labeled it an introductory offer that ends 7 September 2026. At the US register that was typically $24.99 down to $19.99 while the tag lasted.
Japanese press did not all print the same last calendar day. Automaton wrote that the Steam launch sale ran 20 percent off to 3,040 yen through 8 September 2026. Frontwing’s own Japanese copy and outlets such as DenfaminicoGamer stressed the 12-day Steam window and the 3,800-yen list without always repeating Automaton’s 8 September stamp.
Treat 7 September (Steam introductory banner) and 8 September (Automaton JP) as a region and storefront difference. Time zones, how a Japanese outlet counts the final day, and how Steam prints “ends September 7” can disagree by one date without anyone lying. This wiki will not pick a fake third “real” deadline. If your Steam client still shows the introductory offer, you are in the window. If it does not, you are on list price unless a later seasonal sale is announced.
DLsite and DMM used the 3,800-yen tax-in list at launch. Do not assume they copied Steam’s 12-day 20 percent tag. Check the shop you are actually paying. After the introductory window, COCORO returns to regular price until Frontwing or Valve schedule something else. Watch Steam news and the official links hub.
What the COCORO + KANADE bundle is
Steam bundle 85155 is titled COCORO + KANADE. The store text is simple: buy this bundle to save 5 percent off all 2 items. That 5 percent stacks on top of each game’s own discount. During launch week, with COCORO’s introductory 20 percent off and a live KANADE promotion, the US widget showed a combined cut around 22 percent and a checkout near $28.24 from a $36.08 bundle base. Those numbers rot the moment either title’s individual tag changes. Always read the live widget, not a launch-day screenshot.
KANADE (Steam app 3104270) is Frontwing’s previous all-ages visual novel with GOOD SMILE COMPANY, released in June 2025. Digital list price at that launch was 1,980 yen tax-in / $12.99 on Steam. It is a separate story with a separate heroine, a separate writer, and no official claim that it shares continuity with Tsukumo. Steam lists Family Sharing, Cloud, and Steam Deck Playable (not Verified). COCORO is Deck Verified. If handheld reading is the point, that badge difference matters more than five percent.
If you already own KANADE, Steam’s usual bundle behavior is to charge only for the missing title, plus whatever bundle math remains. If you already own COCORO, the widget is not a reason to rebuy it. The bundle does not exist on DLsite or DMM as a Steam package. Cross-store receipts do not stack. Checkout steps for solo COCORO, including the Japanese shops, stay on where to buy.
What KANADE is (without the plot)
Public store copy is enough. KANADE is an all-ages one-heroine novel about a half-human, half-alien girl named Kanade, a first-love frame, and a song. Frontwing and GOOD SMILE COMPANY sold it as a short, approachable book — Japanese materials said a first-timer could finish in a day or two. Writer is Asou Ei. Character design is Yusano, with Akio Watanabe on sub character design. SD sprites are nanaca mai. Music is Fuminori Matsumoto. Yuko Natsuyoshi voices Kanade.
That staff overlap is why the bundle exists as a store idea: Watanabe, Matsumoto, and nanaca mai also work on COCORO; both games are all-ages, voiced except the male protagonist, and built as focused heroine stories rather than 40-hour campus route maps. The writers are different. Asta Konno wrote COCORO (ATRI -My Dear Moments-, GINKA). Asou Ei wrote KANADE. Different heroine, different science-fantasy metaphor, different city. This page will not recap KANADE’s last hour, name its ending, or pretend the two books are chapters of one series.
Steam user reviews for KANADE sat Very Positive with a few hundred ratings by the time COCORO shipped — a larger sample than COCORO’s launch-week few dozen. That still does not tell you whether you want a garden prototype or a song. For COCORO’s own writing, art, and length, use the spoiler-aware COCORO review.
Why buy both — and why not
Consider the bundle if you:
- Want two short Frontwing / GOOD SMILE COMPANY collabs in one checkout while COCORO’s introductory offer is live.
- Already liked all-ages one-heroine science-fantasy and can stand a second, separate metaphor.
- Care about shared presentation (Watanabe lines, Matsumoto score, nanaca mai SD) more than shared plot.
- Use Steam anyway for Cloud, and you do not already own KANADE.
Skip the bundle if you:
- Only came for Konno, Cocoro, and Tsukumo. You do not owe Frontwing a second receipt.
- Already own KANADE. Buy COCORO solo on Steam, DLsite, or DMM.
- Need Steam Deck Verified and do not want a second title that Valve only marked Playable.
- Are stretching a budget for one five-hour book. COCORO’s list is $24.90; adding KANADE is optional, not required to finish the garden.
The bundle is not a lore decoder ring. Playing KANADE first is not homework for COCORO. Playing COCORO first does not spoil KANADE if you stay out of ending write-ups. They are two store SKUs that happen to share a publisher pairing.
How to check out without lying to yourself
Open the COCORO Steam page. Look at the solo introductory price. Look at the bundle widget (bundle 85155). Subtract anything you already own. If the delta is a few dollars and you already wanted KANADE, take the pair. If the delta is a second novel you will not start this month, buy COCORO alone.
Then stop shopping. First-hour setup is getting started. Specs, Family Sharing, DLsite, DMM, and refund-as-store-policy stay on the where-to-buy page. Official site, support mail (ask@frontwing.co.jp), and social accounts are on links. The news log will gain a dated line if Frontwing posts a real changelog; it will not gain invented patch numbers here.
Buy the pair if both store pages still interest you after a sober look at length and tone. Buy COCORO alone if you only came for Konno’s garden. Ignore launch-day math screenshots; the live Steam widget is the only total that counts. Then close this tab. A bundle is a shopping cart, not a sequel, and KANADE’s last hour is none of this wiki’s business.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for first-time readers of COCORO.
How long is the COCORO launch discount?
Steam ran a 20 percent introductory offer for the first 12 days, through 7 September 2026 on the store banner. After that, expect list price unless a later sale is announced. Price and shops are also on the launch recap.
Why do Steam and Automaton disagree on the last sale day?
Steam prints 7 September 2026. Automaton's Japanese launch piece said the Steam 20 percent off ran through 8 September 2026. Treat that as a region and storefront difference. This wiki will not invent a third date.
What is in the COCORO + KANADE bundle?
Steam bundle 85155 is the two full visual novels, with an extra 5 percent off both items stacked on live individual discounts. It is not DLC. Checkout options are on where to buy.
Do I need to play KANADE before COCORO?
No. They share a publisher pairing and some staff, not a plot you must unlock. This page does not spoil KANADE. For whether COCORO itself is for you, read the review.
I already own KANADE. Should I still click the bundle?
Usually no. Steam typically charges for the missing title only. Buying COCORO solo on Steam, DLsite, or DMM is enough. After purchase, use getting started.
