COCORO news log
Confirmed public dates only. No invented patch numbers.
How to read this log
This is a dated news log for COCORO, not a patch-notes hub with version stamps Frontwing never published. Entries below are events the company, GOOD SMILE COMPANY, Steam, Gematsu, or the official site put on the record. When a Steam client downloads a silent depot with no blog post, we will not name it 1.0.1. If a real changelog appears later, it will get a new dated heading here and a pointer from the Updates Hub.
Primary sources to recheck: the official English site news, the Steam news hub, @cocoro_fw, and Frontwing’s YouTube channel. Support mail is ask@frontwing.co.jp. Database pages (VNDB, Wikipedia, Gematsu) are indexed on the links hub.
Confirmed timeline
26 March 2026 — Announced
GOOD SMILE COMPANY and Frontwing announced COCORO for PC. Gematsu carried the English report: writer Asta Konno, character designer Akio Watanabe, 2026 window, languages Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Staff credits already named SD art (Mai Nanaka), backgrounds, and music (Fuminori Matsumoto). Hina Youmiya was listed as Cocoro. Storefronts named at this stage included Steam, DLsite, and other download shops. No day-and-month yet.
5 June 2026 — Steam page, opening movie, more cast
The Steam store went live (app 4650950) with the opening movie. Additional cast went public, including Ryuzaki Kazane, Kizuki Kirika, and the rest of the Tsukumo circle. The opening theme Signal (Runa Mizutani of NanosizeMir; composition by Fuminori Matsumoto) shipped as the OP. An ATRI collaboration acrylic stand campaign ran alongside the store launch. Steam also noted a GOOD SMILE COMPANY YouTube stream the same day. Wishlisting became the main call to action. See Cocoro’s page for voice credits without story spoilers.
19 June 2026 — Release date 27 August 2026; ending theme
Frontwing locked 27 August 2026 as the Japanese street date. Hina Youmiya, already voicing the heroine, was announced as the ending-theme performer. Languages and PC download distribution stayed the same. From this date forward, marketing treated summer 2026 as a calendar day, not a season.
9 July 2026 — BilibiliWorld 2026 (Shanghai)
Steam posted that COCORO would appear at BilibiliWorld 2026 in Shanghai, 10–12 July, at the Syawase Works booth (6.1H 6A26). The 9 July stamp is the announcement; the floor dates are the weekend that followed. This was a localization-partner booth appearance, not a new SKU.
31 July 2026 — Development complete
Frontwing declared the build done (“development complete” / master-up). Steam news: less than a month to release. No public beta, no numbered preview patch — just a finished candidate heading into August cert and store prep.
14 August 2026 — Final trailer
The final trailer went up on Frontwing’s YouTube channel. Steam news the same day pointed at the 27 August date. The homepage of this wiki already embeds that trailer; we are not duplicating the video ID on this page. Treat the film as a spoiler-adjacent recap of tone, not a gameplay tutorial.
20 August 2026 — Demo on Steam
Free demo, separate app 5069120, described as the beginning of the story. Full write-up: demo news. Play instructions: demo play guide.
26–27 August 2026 — Full release
COCORO shipped. Official Japanese date 27 August; Steam 26 August in some regions. List price USD 24.90 on the official site. Steam ran 20 percent off for the first 12 days, through 7 September 2026. A COCORO + KANADE bundle went up on Steam. Launch recap with stores, Deck Verified, 12 achievements, and the ~91 percent / ~35-review snapshot: launch recap. After install, use getting started.
What this log will not do
- Invent patch versions, crash-fix bullets, or “day-one patch” notes that Frontwing did not publish.
- Re-host trailers already on the homepage.
- Promise DLC, a second heroine route, or console ports that have not been announced.
- Treat every Steam download bar as news. Silent maintenance stays silent until there is a post.
What to watch next
Watch three places: official site news, Steam news for app 4650950, and @cocoro_fw. Likely real-world follow-ups (if they happen) would be a sale-end reminder on 7 September 2026, a first Steam review-score refresh as the sample grows past a few dozen ratings, or a genuine client changelog. None of those are confirmed as of this writing.
If you are here to play, leave the log. The review and playtime pages are better for deciding an evening. Trophy hunters go to achievements. Deck owners go to Steam Deck.
